Facebook announces new steps to protect users' privacy

In the meanwhile, the new 'privacy' shortcut menu will allow users to speed up the security of their account, manage information and control the advertisements and view site activity.

Washington: Facebook said that it has changed its privacy-related provisions so that users can "control more" on their information on the social media website. These updates include Facebook's user accessibility setting, easy-to-find system, download and delete personal data stored by Facebook

Chief Health Officer Erin Egan and another top official Ashley Beringer said in the blog post that we had heard that access to privacy settings and other important tools is very difficult and we have to take extra steps keeping in mind the people.He said that he will take additional steps in the coming weeks so that people get more control over their privacy.

Facebook has made these new amendments at a time when it was revealed recently that a British firm attached to Donald Trump's 2016 Presidential election campaign had collected personal data of millions of Facebook users.
